Yesterday, the Health and Safety Executive publish Yesterday, the Health and Safety Executive published their 2024/25 workplace statistics.

It is clear there is still a lot to be done about keeping workplace injuries to a minimum. While there has been a dip in musculoskeletal disorders and work-place accident deaths since the 2023/24 stats, there has been a significant rise in work-related illnesses by 200,000, alongside approx 7 million more working days lost compared to 33.7 million in 2023/4.

As daunting as these figures seem, we are determined to be part of the moving force bringing about more positive change, leading to lower statistics, and safer workplaces all round.

Take a deeper dive into the stats below, or read the article at: https://lnkd.in/df7hiui3

📈Allie has been a fundamental addition to the team, and we look forward to seeing where the next year will take her.

🌠🌠Gateway 2 Approval Secured🌠🌠 ✅In 🌠🌠Gateway 2 Approval Secured🌠🌠

✅In fantastic news, we are pleased to share that we have successfully obtained a Gateway 2 approval with requirements in a scheme with JTRE London.

🏢The 220 BFR-Almshouse is a 65 unit, 16 storey residential building, with 2 basement levels, Southwark Charities offices on First Floor and a Community Centre at Ground-Floor to the east.

🏗️This Gateway 2 success means that construction can now commence, as it has been proven the building’s design is compliant with safety requirements.

🗣️Client JTRE commented: “This is a significant step forward following a long journey of close collaboration with Southwark Charities and Project Four Building Safety Experts Ltd. The amount of dedication and hard work to reach this critical point has been incredible”.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏼💚We are thrilled to have been a part of the success, and congratulations to JTRE and the wider team involved.
📆November 19th and 20th, Project Four will be h 📆November 19th and 20th, Project Four will be heading to the 10th edition of London Build Expo, aka the UK’s largest construction show.

🌟Vic, Oksana, Fola, and Josh will be representing P4, and with 38,000+ registered attendees, 750+ inspiring speakers, 200+ hours of CPD, and 450+ exhibitors, there’s an abundance of things to see and do over the 2 day period.

💚Vic and Oksana have also become ambassadors for this year’s expo, sharing their ethos and values surrounding the construction industry as they represent Women in Construction, Young Professionals Network, Mental Health in Construction and the Construction Mentors Network.

📖Vic : “Women in the industry bring a unique viewpoint to their roles, all with a different story and outcome. Having women in construction means these stories get heard and the outcomes change for the next person”.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏼Oksana: “I’m committed to embedding rigorous standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement”.

🔑Having passion is what P4 are all about, and we’re glad we can take some of that everywhere we go.

🗣️We look forward to hearing from the team post-event to see how they got on!
🏫💚Two events, one day...Project Four go back 🏫💚Two events, one day...Project Four go back to school.

🤔What do excitable students, career prospects, and Project Four have in common? Well let us divulge you...

🌟Last week, Mol, Jack, and Alan, went to two Liverpool Schools: De La Salle, St Helens; St Margaret’s Church of England Academy, Aigburth. The reason for their visit was to attend two careers events looking to inspire the next generation.

🗣️Alan, who went to St Margaret’s Big Career Conversation - Construction and Built Environment, was one of a number of employers who sat on a panel to discuss the working industry and what it has to offer.

🔓🗝️Mol and Jack headed to St Helens to the De La Salle ‘Your Future’ Careers Fayre, which gave Years 9, 10, and 11 the chance to explore the many different routes available when thinking about careers. From colleges and apprenticeships, to job opportunities in construction, the NHS, Police, or the Army to name a few, it was a valuable time to ask those questions to people who can answer them best.

💚We love supporting initiatives like this, as we were all those shy students once, unsure what path to take and where to go to find it. If we can help just one student find their way onto their right trajectory, we’ll have done our job right.
Today, and everyday, we honour and remember those Today, and everyday, we honour and remember those who have fallen, and those who returned, and thank them for the sacrifices they made to protect our freedom. We must never forget.

🤔🤔How many times have we all sat scrolling, 🤔🤔How many times have we all sat scrolling, seen a company’s posts on social media, and thought, “I don’t even know where this company is”?

💚How many times have we looked at a business page and not known the story behind them?

🔓🗝️Well here at Project Four, we think that should be different, so we’re giving you behind the scenes access to where we call home, our HQ. No corner left unturned, no information left behind. Get comfy and get the volume up.

🚶🏼‍➡️🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️Come along on a walking tour of Avenue HQ Liverpool and it’s surrounding beauty. We love where we work, sandwiched between Royal Albert Dock, Museum of Liverpool, and the Three Graces. There’s no shortage of action outside our door, and it’s just the way we like it.

Enjoy the tour, and now you know where we are, come and see us👋🏼

🦺💨3rd-7th November is Safer Air Week, organi 🦺💨3rd-7th November is Safer Air Week, organised by the Association for Project Safety

🪧The week aims to give workplaces the tools and insights they need to better protect themselves, their workforce, and their businesses from hidden airborne hazards.

📈📉In the UK, around 12,000 deaths per year are linked to work-related lung disease, with many originating from the construction sector. Key tasks like cutting, grinding, and using power tools are major sources of high dust levels.

👨🏼‍💼In our industry, we can’t escape dust, but we can manage it efficiently enough to not cause harm to our health.

✔️To improve levels of construction dust you can:

1. Use wet suppression methods like water sprays and misting systems.

2. Enclose work areas with barriers and zipper systems to contain dust.

3. Implement on-tool extraction to capture dust at the source and use high-efficiency vacuums for clean-up.

4. Consider preventative planning to reduce dust generation, such as using alternative tools and materials.

...but this list is not exhaustive, there are many things you can do to prevent dust levels becoming dangerous.

🌟It might be Safer Air ‘Week’, but it’s clear this is an everyday responsibility, one we all must encourage and implement across the sector.
⚖️P4 on trial... 👨🏼‍⚖️👩🏼‍ ⚖️P4 on trial...

👨🏼‍⚖️👩🏼‍⚖️This week the PCS team attended the North West Construction Health & Safety Group Mock Prosecution at St George’s Hall.

🤕🩼Mirroring a real workplace accident trial, the team were able to uncover the consequences of poor safety decisions complete with HSE Inspectors and barristers.

⁉️🎭Tony Barnes even took to the stand to be interviewed by the HSE as a witness, putting those acting skills to good use.

🗣️Speaking to Tony after the event, he said “For our advisors, attending was invaluable...the real value lies in how this understanding translates to our day-to-day work with clients. It fundamentally shapes our approach to site audits, documentation reviews, and incident investigations...we’re learning to ask sharper questions, reinforce industry best practice, and provide more robust advice that genuinely protects people.”

🍕🕛Topped off with a team lunch, it was a good day all round. Great work team!🫱🏼‍🫲🏼

A huge thank you to NWCHSG for having us.
🧠🗣️This week is International Stress Aware 🧠🗣️This week is International Stress Awareness week, with the theme this time round focusing on workplace wellbeing.

“Optimising Employee Well-being through Strategic Stress Management” highlights the crucial role workplaces have to play in workplace mental health🏢👷🏼‍♂️

⛑️☕🫂On site we are consistently working to ensure our team know they are supported. With mental-health first aiders trained up, team socials and check-ins, and an open, honest, and empathetic workplace, Project Four are proud to be striving for positive change.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏼Stress is not something that needs to be faced alone. Given, it is a natural part of life, and something that everyone experiences, but when it gets too much, it’s important to have the outlet to address it.

💚Small steps make the biggest impact. Keep talking, keep feeling, and most importantly, keep going.
💚PROJECT FOUR GO BACK TO SCHOOL💚 ✌🏼So 💚PROJECT FOUR GO BACK TO SCHOOL💚

✌🏼So nice, we just had to do it twice.

🏫🎒This Thursday, Chairman Alan and some other members of the P4 team are heading over to two different schools, as they attend careers fairs aiming to provide pupils with those starting steps in career hunting.

🗣️Up first, Alan is attending the 'Big Career Conversation - Construction & Built Environment', at St Margaret's Church of England Academy. Alan said "It's all about showing the amazing opportunities the industry has to offer...we look forward to helping inspire the next generation".

🔮💼Across the county, Mol, Jack, and Sophie, are going to the De La Salle School in St Helen's where they will be hosting a stall at their 'Your Future' Careers Fair. Equipped to tell students all about their own experiences navigating the job market and industry, they hope to prove quite how many career opportunities are out there.

🌍In a world where the job industry seems so daunting, it is always good to lend a hand of inspiration where we can. See you Thursday!

P4 are going to court... 👩🏼‍⚖️Don't w P4 are going to court...

👩🏼‍⚖️Don't worry though, we're not on trial.

⚖️🪜👷🏼‍♂️Tomorrow, the PCS team are off to the North West Construction Health & Safety Group mock prosecution event, where they will be immersed in a live courtroom scenario following a workplace accident. Complete with real barristers and HSE inspectors, the team will watch the real consequences of poor safety decisions unfold.

💚We look forward to hearing from the team about the day, it looks to be a good one! The value it will add to the team will be immense and will invite them into the alternative side of site safety.

👋🏼Will we see you there?
☕Is there a better way to start your day?

🚶🏼‍♂️🍳Some of the team up north started their Fridays bright and early with a stomp around Liverpool before heading over to Ezra and Gil for breakfast.

🗣️Social activities like this are the ideal time for a wind down after a busy week, whilst also getting the time to speak to members of the team you don't normally get the chance to.

💆🏼‍♂️🧠Returning refreshed and ready for the day, it was the perfect way to boost spirits, check how everyone's doing, and say thank you for the work they do.

Happy Friday💚
